I can’t tell you how many times I have invested in a magic trick and when it arrived it did not seem to be worth the money I paid for it. The catch phrase is “you’re paying for the secret”. Even though that may be true, in some cases it turns out to be an old trick which costs $2.95 on every magic vendors site but it now comes in a fancy box and the routine printed on nice card stock and now that same $2.95 plastic dice holder costs $60. Really? So, every now and then when you get something that not only is a great effect but you receive an item in which the quality is every dollars worth you paid for, it is worth a mention.

I offer up to you The Gift. The Gift by Angelo Carbone is ostensibly a black (or gold if you pay the up-charge) gift box which houses a prediction. The spectator is given a deck of cards and told to deal them face up on the table. The spectator is allowed to stop whenever they want. A card is chosen, and miraculously when the box is opened by the spectator, the prediction inside matches the value and suit of the chosen card. But wait there’s more. The Gift is fully adaptable to any routine of your choosing. Predictions can be but not limited to, numbers, landmarks, cities, ESP symbols and just anything that can be written on a piece of paper. The Gift can even be used as a book test revelation. Even more than its versatility, The Gift comes with the needed deck of cards and additional props necessary to make the effect a world class contender. The quality of the construction of the box itself leaves nothing to be desired. Perfect seams and quality components makes The Gift a pleasure to own. A lot of engineering went into this little marvel to make it work the way it does. The box is about 4″ x 4″ square but can house a 45-minute mentalism show if loaded thoughtfully. How much more can you ask of an effect? The Gift, probably one of the best investments I’ve made in years.
