The No Choice Wallet

The performer spreads out a deck of cards face down on the table. The spectator freely selects
any one of the cards. The card is placed faced down in the pocket of the wallet. A prediction is produced from the wallet written on a dollar bill (denomination optional) and the prediction is the card chosen by the spectator. The kicker at the end is that the cards remaining are all turned over and each and every one is blank.

Mark Mason well known for manufacturing high quality magic props. Anthony Miller has the reputation for producing great magic trick wallets and between the two The No Choice Wallet was born. I’m sure I’m not giving any secrets away when I say that the wallet does all the work for you. I think it is obvious, otherwise why would they sell you the wallet? I’m also sure that anyone who is somewhat familiar with Mark Mason products will know that this is a “one trick pony”. The wallet can be used to carry a driver’s license, a credit card and some cash but it may hinder the way you want to perform the trick.

I personally do not like “one trick pony” effects. I don’t like carrying any extra bulk and I spend a lot of time thinking about what I would carry to perform with. In most cases each item I would carry would be used for multiple effects. That being said, I like this trick. The reason being, with a little planning you can transition into another effect. For example, you can have the chosen card signed and end up in an impossible location. That location can be another wallet or purse, or it can be in another marketed effect called Bolted. Another possibility is to use the chosen card and perform a Torn and Restored effect such as Reparation by John Lovick.

What you get in the box is just the wallet. You will have to supply your own blank deck and force card. If you decide to get this one, I would try and figure out how you can get more mileage out of the pocket space this will take up. The quality of the wallet is excellent and I can not foresee ever having issues with it. With care, it should last just about forever. The No Choice Wallet is an excellent trick even for this pocket space miser.
